POSITION SUMMARY:

• Manage the delivery of the scientific content of medical communications in close coordination with project managers.
• Supports sales executives in their commercial relationships with clients.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:

Project work

• To write and manage delivery of scientific content for a range of medical communications that meet client needs, internal quality standards and timelines:
• Monitor quality, style and accuracy and provide timely, consistent and constructive feedback.
• Ensure that projects reflect a thorough understanding of clients’ marketing objectives and that key messages are supported appropriately.
• Liaise with clients to agree specifications and check that client expectations are being met.

Business Planning/commercial

• Provide scientific expertise to business development in the development of new business pitches and proposals.
• Maintain broad awareness of developments in relevant therapeutic areas and discipline, editorial issues within publishing and the Springer Healthcare product portfolio.

Financial/Organizational

• To contribute to revenue targets by ensuring that projects are progressed as soon as possible after confirmation.
• To monitor own adherence to budget and utilization rate.
• To record and monitor actual time spent on a project against budgeted time.

• Operation manager, Project management team, Sales team related to ongoing projects and/or potential new projects, on a daily basis

REQUIRED BACKGROUND:

• Extensive experience in scientific/medical writing, including translations (mainly from English to Japanese).
• Editorial management
• Experience working with pharmaceutical/healthcare industry or academic institution
• Scientific/Medical background
• Extensive experience in digital content and project management
• Skill in effectively advancing projects via outsourcing
