We are looking for a highly motivated and proactive individual to provide technical solutions for our many product teams across the world in the GA & GTM space.
The role involves working on a team that leads web analytics and insight across our platforms, supporting the business to understand our customers, helping to improve our online journeys and the overall customer experience by guiding product development through data-informed decision making.
You will be joining a cross-functional enablement team with different nationalities, backgrounds and experience levels. All team members collaborate to deliver solutions that best satisfy the needs of our customers, and we are working to create a culture that encourages new ideas and innovation that best suits Springer Nature’s vision.

Educational Qualification: Graduate/ Bachelor's Degree in any Field.
About You

- You will have integrated GA Universal Analytics (UA) and GTM into web sites, preferably in a corporate environment.
- You will be familiar with using views in GA to provide usable insights to stakeholders such as product owners, or business analysts.
- You will have frontend and/or web development experience and be comfortable with HTML & CSS and have native JavaScript skills.
- You will have experience debugging web site issues especially around JavaScript, and have used browser Dev Tools and preferably also GA & GTM debugging browser extensions.
- You will have some experience writing tests for, and testable, JavaScript code.
- You will have a good understanding of how user actions in the browser fire events, how those events are handled in GA & GTM, and how they surface in Google Analytics 360.
- You will have a keen interest in learning; including learning more about cloud technologies, GA4 and related Data Protection concepts.
- Some Cloud Engineering experience or skills (especially Google Cloud Platform) would be advantageous, but not essential.
- You are motivated to solve problems for people and do so with tolerance, patience, and empathy.
- You like working as part of a team and can collaborate effectively.
- You have good communication skills and can communicate technical concepts effectively to technical and non-technical audiences.
What you will be doing
All new jobs require a learning period, and we understand that new teammates require support to be successful in their new roles. So you will have access to expert help and training resources in order to be successful. We do not expect you to achieve the following all by yourself!
Within 3 Months, you will:
- Have an understanding of the team’s context in the broader programme and business.
- Be familiar with the overall data and web analytics landscape within SN and the technology stack of our key products.
- Have a clear understanding of SN’s defined practices for conducting web analytics implementations in GA & GTM.
- Have a clear understanding of the differences between UA and GA4 and start supporting teams as they migrate through guidelines, support and adherence to good practices.
- Provide runbooks and documentation for our product development teams around GA & GTM.
- Provide basic support for teams integrating GA & GTM with our in-house Consent Management Platform (CMP), i.e. cookie banner.
- With supervision at first, fulfil incoming tracking requests as assigned by your Technical Product Owner (TPO).
- Gain an understanding of the overall system architecture and become familiar with Google Cloud Console.
- Start to become familiar with wider Data Protection issues around your work, such as the GDPR.
By 3-6 months, you will:
- Have an overview of Google Analytics 4 and Universal Analytics implementation across the business.
- Have a clear understanding of the team’s priorities.
- Provide full support for teams integrating GA & GTM with our in-house CMP, including troubleshooting and debugging issues.
- Independently fulfil incoming tracking requests as assigned by your TPO.
- Independently manage container scaling & maintenance in Google Cloud Console.
- Work with our Security team, your TPO and other expert teams in the business to maintain good cloud security practices on GTM containers.
- With support from your team, define the on-boarding process for new teams/sites.
- Become familiar with our client-side event proxying and validation library.
- With your TPO and support from other expert teams in the business, manage container scaling & maintenance in Google Cloud Console.
- Have a good understanding of how the GDPR and similar laws impact your work, and know when to defer to our Data Protection team, or your TPO, with questions..
By 6-12 months, you will:
- Understand our web analytic landscape and business context to inform good practices across the organisation.
- Be a go-to person for best practice information on how to implement GA & GTM.
- Maintain the client-side event proxying and validation library.
- Independently manage container scaling & maintenance in Google Cloud Console.
- Support the team championing web analytics and data literacy within the organisation and work to enhance our capabilities through training and support as needed.
- Contribute to the design of the system architecture.
- Give and receive constructive feedback within your team.
Day to day responsibilities
- Support your team members in problem-solving activities to remove blockers and complete agreed-upon work.
- Support our global product teams integrating GA & GTM.
- Maintain runbooks and documentation for our product development teams around GA & GTM.
- Build effective networks across communities within SN and external analytics communities, learning and sharing expertise with others on the latest trends.
- Be the evangelist for your capability and champion good practices, acting as a bridge between your team and our global product development teams.
