GBS stands for Global Business Systems. Global Business Systems works with teams across all divisions of Springer Nature to implement and manage business critical systems and services. These systems and services provided by Global Business Systems support and integrate with technology platforms used by all parts of the business.GBS involves few important teams like SAP, Salesforce, Basis, QA, BI and App Factory.

 

SAP stands for Systems, Applications and Products in Data Processing. SAP is a widely acclaimed ERP package used in large or medium size enterprises to integrate the processes across various functions such as Sales, Purchase, Finance and HR etc. The key business functions includes: All customer orders created for books, journals, digital content and open access to customer payments (receivables), other purchases and payments (payables) and all other financial transactions are carried out by users across the globe in SAP. In a nutshell, the SAP system in Springer Nature is a central system which is connected to other springer applications and all direct and indirect transactions are being handled in SAP. For example, Books purchased by customers on link.springer.com and springer.com have a customer order created in SAP. When it comes to IT, the backbone for our company is an SAP enterprise resource planning system that incorporates the key business functions of the whole organization.

 

A CRM solution is a tech platform aiding Springer Nature in efficiently managing customer interactions across their lifecycle. It encompasses tools for comprehensive customer data tracking with 360° view, sales along with renewals, marketing for effective campaigning and service processes, fostering robust relationships for growth and satisfaction. We opt for top solutions like Salesforce Sales Cloud, HubSpot, CDP & GCP etc. to avoid platform dependency and ensure best-in-class tools.

 

SAP BI provides self-service data visualization and predictive analytics for large volumes of data available in SAP systems SAP-ECC, SAP-S/4HANA and SAP PI/PO (Process Integration/Process Orchestration) is an integration platform which provides seamless integration between SAP, non-SAP systems and even to 3rd party systems.

 

App Factory Team mainly involves Full-stack & UI developers to design, develop and provide non-SAP solutions to satisfy business requests - Integrate into commercial products like SAP, Salesforce etc. Here at Springer Nature Pune, a team of around 90 people are providing services to Springer Nature business in different areas namely:

 

  • SAP Technical - ABAP/4, ABAP HANA, UI5, FIORI
  • SAP Functional - SAP SD (Sales and Distribution), SAP FI/CO (Finance and Controlling), SAP MM (Materials Management), Ariba, SAP PS (Project System)
  • Business Intelligence - SAP BI, GBQ
  • Customer Relationship Management (CRM) - Salesforce Sales Cloud, SAP Marketing Cloud (SMC), SAP CRM on-premise, Hubspot, CRM Data Engineering.
  • App Factory - VueJS, NodeJS, MySQL
  • SAP BASIS - System Administration & Security

 

USP of SAP team: We deliver global solutions using cutting edge technology from SAP and offer innovative solutions to Springer Nature business across geographies. Handle small and medium large projects in with Agile methodology to cater to business needs and requirement of Springer Nature business and processes in SAP ECC, PI, CRM, BI, SD, FICO and BASIS areas.

Role Responsibilities

  • Leadership and Management: Lead and oversee all marketing requirements in collaboration with product owners, with a particular focus on HubSpot.
  • Continuous Learning and Development: Stay abreast of industry advancements by utilizing HubSpot Developer documentation, ensuring optimal utilization of HubSpot license features. Actively participate in HubSpot trainings and consistently obtain relevant certifications.
  • Communication and Reporting: Provide regular and comprehensive weekly updates to all stakeholders.
  • Technology Mastery: Expand expertise to encompass other marketing technologies employed in projects, including Customer Data Platform (CDP), SAP Marketing Cloud (SMC), Cloud Platform Integration (CPI), etc.
  • Agile Practices: Adhere to Agile practices and effectively manage project delivery in sprints, ensuring alignment with project timelines and goals.

 

What you will be doing

Within 3 Months you will:

  • Acquire familiarity with Springer Nature's marketing technology stack, instances, and overall marketing tools architecture.
  • Participate in the team's agile processes and ceremonies, gaining a deep understanding of the team's dynamics.
  • Comprehend the complete marketing business process.
  • Independently address small requirements with minimal guidance from team members.

By 3-6 months you will:

  • Actively contribute to all marketing initiatives, collaborating seamlessly with other team members.
  • Engage in discussions with stakeholders and product owners, providing insights into what is feasible and articulating limitations.
  • Review and update existing documentation to ensure accuracy and relevance.

 By 6-12 months you will:

  • Independently handle complex development requests, presenting solutions in design sessions.
  • Translate high-level requirements into actionable work items, demonstrating a deep understanding of project intricacies.
  • Dedicate 10% of your time to exploring innovative topics beyond assigned tasks.
  • Participate in the recruiting process, assisting in the assessment of applicants.

 

About You

  • Minimum 6-8 years of experience in IT industry overseeing enterprise-scale B2B & B2C marketing projects
  • Proven experience in effectively managing marketing technology and successfully working with the HubSpot marketing tool
  • Modular development of drag-and-drop templates for websites, landing pages, blogs, and emails
  • Good knowledge of Customer Data Platform (CDP) tools, or willingness to master this skill
  • Nice to have experience in SAP Marketing Cloud (SMC) & Cloud Platform Integration (CPI)
  • Strong debugging skills, empowering you to efficiently manage first-level support
  • An analytical mindset complemented by exceptional problem-solving capabilities
  • Diligent documentation skills ensuring the maintenance of accurate records
  • Excellent communication skills that enable effective engagement with stakeholders
  • Holding HubSpot certifications is considered an advantage
