We’re looking for a talented and motivated Front End Developer to join our team at Springer Nature. The job is based in Pune, Maharashtra and you will be working with team members and stakeholders in London/Berlin.

SN Digital (SND) is a technology division of Springer Nature. We are responsible for maintaining and delivering millions of articles used by researchers, scientists and students around the globe.
There are 250 of us in London, Lisbon, Berlin, Pune, New York, Madrid, Dordrecht, Heidelberg. The Content Acquisition programme you’ll be joining is looking at the systems and processes across our imprints, and is working to create a world-class submissions experience for our global audience of academic researchers and editorial staff.

What you’ll be doing:
- Ensure the continuous delivery of high quality work (websites/software/documentation/style guides/etc.).
- Facilitate communication within product teams: maintain an in-depth knowledge of the work being carried out by the team.
- Communicate what sort of support product teams require from the wider discipline.
- Be aware of the vision, goals and strategy of the FED discipline.
- Be aware of and utilise technologies & best practices recommended by the FED discipline.
- Contribute to ongoing discussions on said technologies & practices.
- Contribute to playbooks.
- Advocate for and implement techniques outlined in FED playbooks, such as progressive enhancement and accessibility.
What you need to bring with you
- Minimum 4+ years of solid technical experience in UI/Front-end development with a solid knowledge of:
javascript + typescript
nodejs
express/koa
html + css (be able to take a figma design and build the html and css for it)
- Experience in building NodeJS web applications, custom component and modifying inhouse libraries using the latest standards-based approaches (JavaScript, HTML5, CSS3)
- Working experience in Responsive Web Designing
- Good to have experience with Assistive Technology such as screen readers (JAWS, NVDA, MAC/IOS VoiceOver, TalkBack, magnifiers, alternative input, read-aloud tools, etc.) with the understanding of their interactions with multiple browsers and platform combinations.
- A positive attitude, with the willingness to learn and collaborate
- Excellent written and articulation skills
