Role Responsibilities:

• Copy editing of manuscripts in order to check and improve upon the language, flow and accuracy.
• Check the consistency of text, subject-verb agreement, spelling, hyphenation etc. in the manuscripts.
• Correct errors or lapses in grammar, syntax, usage and diction.
• Correct the misused words or incorrect literal translations from foreign languages.
• Check and edit the content for capitalization, abbreviations, numbers and special types.
• Devote special attention to verify cross-references that appear in text, specifying the placement of tables and illustrations.
• Check the content of the illustrations against the captions and against the text.
• Raising author queries in case of any internal inconsistencies or discrepancies in content
• To be able to deliver the documents with first-time-right (FTR) quality
• Working knowledge of standard style guides
• Knowledge of publishing functions, process, and formats
• Proficient with MS Office – Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
• Check the page number listed in the reference word file
• Search the reference PDF file folder within the zip package that houses the reference PDF file for a page number
• Use the page number to find the name of the PDF file
• Determine whether or not the name provided in the annotated remarks are correct or not.

Experience, Skills & Qualifications:

Experience: 1 to 6 years

Essential

• Copy Editing
• XML
• English Language

Desirable

• Good analytical and decision-making skills
• Understand business requirements and translate those into deliverable
