Job Title: Associate Marketing Manager, Journal Collections

Type of Employment - 1 year contract

About the Role

 

This is an exciting opportunity to join Springer Nature's Marketing Planning team to drive the development, implementation and improvement of our marketing programmes for Journal Collections. Journal Collections bring together new articles in our journals, highlighting emerging and fast-developing areas of research within a field. Collections, or in some areas referred to as special issues, are a key element of Springer Nature Journals strategy. The successful candidate will help drive the Collections Marketing development across Springer Nature's extensive journal portfolio with an initial focus on open access journals. This role is critical for Springer Nature's publishing success, and in helping researchers achieve visibility and impact for their work across a wide range of academic fields.

 

This role is perfect for an ambitious marketer with strong digital marketing and analytical skills, who loves looking at performance data to increase impact and efficiency. We're looking for a new colleague who has excellent communication skills to work with a wide network of stakeholders and is able to make innovative and scalable recommendations on future activities and scaling up of the programmes.

 

Responsibilities

  • Coordination, project management and oversight of the implementation of collections marketing plans to deliver Marketing KPIs

  • Find ways to build campaigns into ongoing or new automation streams

  • Measure effectiveness of campaigns in order to optimise campaign performance

  • Proactively review results to draw out lessons learned, and work with Marketing Strategy and Operations colleagues to make iterative adjustments to targeting, messaging and creative, based on defined testing plans

  • Report on campaign results to Publishing and other stakeholders

  • Regular and reliable tracking and reporting on budget

 

Experience

  • Proven abilities in developing and implementing effective and efficient marketing plans connecting strategy with the right tactics and channels

  • Experience working in a performance marketing and/or agile marketing context

  • Demonstrated ability to work in global environment

  • Demonstrated experience using Marketing Analytics programs and producing reports for senior stakeholders

  • Excellent understanding of digital marketing tactics and platforms

 

Skills

  • Ability to adapt to continuous monitoring of program performance and a changing environment

  • Ability to work well in a matrix role and cross-functional team structure

  • High competence in project management and strong organisational skills, with a keen eye for detail

  • Excellent digital marketing and customer engagement skill-set

  • Excellent presentation and interpersonal skills
