Purpose of the Role


This role assists the Senior RIA Manager in carrying out analytics projects and delivering actionable insights to Springer Nature’s Research Marketing organisation.


Key Tasks


  • Work with large sets of data for various reporting needs, being able to process data with Excel, R, Python and Big Query
  • Monitor and track metrics to derive findings and directions for marketers
  • Create user-friendly web traffic reports(dashboards) marketing
  • Analyse campaign effectiveness to make recommendations
  • Provide data insights and knowledge to help support the decision making ability of senior management
  • Assist with special projects which may arise from time to time
  • Analyse output to ensure error free data is supplied to ensure efficient provision of data/output is provided

  • Senior Analytics Manager (RIA) and other Marketing Data, Analytics & Technology team members
  • Research Marketing stakeholders (Managers, Directors and Executives)
  • Technology, Business Systems, PPG



Bachelor’s Degree / Master’s Degree (STEM)




Strong working knowledge of advanced Microsoft Excel (Advances functions, VBAs)



  • Some experience working with data sets from various applications, locally hosted & cloud
  • Experience with Big Query (or SQL), programming (R and Python), statistical analysis and reporting
  • Basic statistics (T-test, Anova and other significance tests)
  • Ability to use programming languages (ideally Python)
  • Strong presentation skills - PowerPoint
  • Clear written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills
  • Impeccable attention to detail, ability to produce error-free outputs
  • Use of web analytics applications Google Analytics and Big Query
  • Basic SQL skills (querying, performance optimisation, stored procedures & views)
  • Ability to work collaboratively with diverse groups or work independently
  • Flexible individual who is willing to learn and contribute immediately
  • Ability to be self-motivated, reliable problem solver and finisher
  • Excellent organizational and strong analytical skills
  • Being willing to work on London hours (or similar) during probation times (first three months)



  • Experience with dash boarding/visualization tools
  • Knowledge and exposure of web related concepts such as Search Engine Optimization, Social Media platforms and technology in general
