Lead and manage the delivery of the scientific content of medical communications within accounts. Provide advanced levels of strategic and tactical advice to clients, therapeutic area advice to relevant account teams, editorial advice to the wider editorial group, the client services team and the management team, and input into business development initiatives. Flexible work arrangements available. 

 

Responsibilities:

  • Leads and manages delivery of scientific content or strategic content of medical communications
  • Feeds into the development of a strategic plans beyond what client asks for and looks at a long term view of an account using their specialist knowledge to map out the future for the area
  • Collaborates with the Account Directors on the scope and costings of projects; may support with resource management
  • Assists with developing standard operating procedures (SOPs) for the editorial team
  • Mentors junior writers

             

Qualifications, skills, and experience:  

  • Advanced degree in Life Sciences or Pharmacy; PhD, PharmD, or MD
  • 5+ years industry experience in in all aspects of medical communication deliverables environment
  • Significant experience in developing a broad variety of medical communications deliverables within an agency
  • Extensive knowledge of pharmaceutical and clinical drug development and an understanding of one or more key therapeutic areas
  • Reviewing/coaching experience in a communications agency for >2 years.
  • Experience of client liaison and interaction for >5 years or equivalent, including client visits and on-site experience
  • Experience leading project teams without line management
  • Advanced computer literacy, including proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications such as PowerPoint and Word in addition to online medical resource searching (i.e. Ovid, Medline, PubMed, etc.)

Annualized Base Salary Range: $125,000  – $160,000. The salary offer may vary based on work experience, education and skill level.
