Editor responsible for book publications in Business and Economics, and Law (Springer Imprint)

Executive Editor, Business, Economics, Politics, and Law (Springer Nature Singapore)

 

Responsibilities           

  • Actively cultivating existing author/editor/reviewer relationships within Australia and New Zealand scholarly community and expanding current book publishing portfolio
  • Keeping abreast of the latest developments in responsible subject areas, focusing on emerging topics, as well as interdisciplinary research
  • Planning, acquiring and managing editorial book projects with Australia/New Zealand-based authors/editors, directly or in cooperation with local/regional partners
  • Editorial book projects include scholarly monographs, edited volumes, textbooks, professional books, handbooks, reference works, book series, open access books
  • Being responsible for the quality of editorial projects, including the metadata, academic content, language, product positioning, peer review, diversity of portfolio, etc.
  • Working closely with the Executive Editor and extended teams around the world in Business/Economics, and Law, to achieve publishing targets
  • Helping to present Springer's overall business/economics, and law programs at conferences in Australia and New Zealand

 

Requirements

  • Advanced degree. Business Administration, Economics, or similar discipline would be a plus
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • First class presentation skills
  • Ready to travel within Australia/New Zealand, and occasional travel outside ANZ
  • Strong organizational skills, detail-oriented, and capable of handling multiple priorities and projects simultaneously
  • Previous working experience acquiring/commissioning for scholarly content in international publishing industry preferred
  • Proven ability to collaborate with international colleagues and diverse research communities expected
  • Experience in working independently and being a swift learner and adapter of new publishing business models and technologies
