Purpose of the Role 



The Marketing Data, Analytics, and Technology team is driving Springer Nature’s value exchange with the Research Community by enabling the business to make data-driven decisions and implementing technologies and automation processes based on data and analytics for effective and efficient marketing & communication.


As part of the Marketing Technology and Data team, we are searching for a Marketing Technology Intern to collaborate and support a cross-functional team focused on enabling cutting-edge technology to grow and scale marketing strategies.
You will work with the team responsible for rolling out new functionalities and data capabilities on SAP Marketing Cloud by leveraging both SAP-provided feature packages and managing custom marketing technology integrations.





  • Contribute to having good communication flow and understanding across the team by  writing and refining user stories following agile methodology best practices
  • Collaborate during brainstorming sessions by bringing a marketer's perspective. Document inputs and summarize action points.
  • Build and distribute marketing and training materials for our marketing automation platform across the business such as the latest developments and new features released.
  • Collect feedback from marketers, developers, BAs, and different stakeholders in order to manage a repository of end-user ideas/nice-to-haves 
  • Share updates regarding marketing strategies and tools by performing ongoing analysis and research on the MarTech landscape.
  • Collect email campaign performance reports and translate them into insights and lessons learned.
  • Generate and deliver weekly/monthly marketing campaign reports.
  • Build/enhance dashboard reports in DataStudio, GoogleSheets, and Google Slides
  • Keep track of received and completed tasks independently
  • Support the MarTech team in daily administrative tasks





  • In-depth understanding of different marketing techniques

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills (English)

  • Hands-on experience with at least one marketing automation platform (SAP, Marketo, HubSpot, Salesforce…)

  • Excellent organizational and time management skills

  • Experience in Microsoft Office or Google Work Products (Docs, Sheets, Slides)

  • Attention to detail

  • Team player and proactive attitude

  • Strong desire to learn new skills

  • Analytical and logical reasoning

  • Good excel knowledge, reporting

  • Basic HTML and CSS knowledge





Full-time (37 hours per week)

Salary: EUR 1.680,-- gross (as of 1st October 2022: EUR 1.930,--)

Duration: 6-12 months
