Job Description: Head of Strategy and Transformation

We are currently looking for a new addition to our team and seeking to recruit an experienced Head of Strategy and Transformation (m/w/d) to support an ambitious growth agenda for our Health division. This role will report into the Vice President, Strategy and have close working relationships with MDs and senior Directors. Our new colleague will lead on growth initiatives (organic or inorganic) as well as facilitating alignment of existing business units to current market opportunities.
Springer Nature’s Health division provides healthcare professionals with trusted insights, advancing medical knowledge for the benefit of better diagnostics, treatment and care of patients. Our main brands are
- Springer Healthcare: International agency working with pharmaceutical companies and key opinion leaders on medical communications and education programmes to support dissemination of novel therapies
- Springer Medizin and Bohn Stafleu van Loghum: High-quality publishing, information solutions and events for all players in the healthcare sector across Germany, Austria and the Netherlands
This is a great opportunity for an experienced strategy, management or in-house consultant with a genuine interest in high profile strategy work in a rapidly transforming, global company with a positive mission.
Responsibilities
- Lead strategic initiatives aimed at new sources of growth and opportunities to transform and strengthen our existing business units. Including
- Design high level frameworks and in-depth assessments (incl. market dynamics, internal capabilities) to understand challenges/opportunities and options for action
- Develop roadmaps for specific initiatives on how to further test and refine hypotheses, and implement actionable strategies
- Design high level stakeholder engagement programmes to ensure broad range of colleagues adapt to new ways of working and priorities
- Together with cross-functional teams, support the early-stage implementation of strategic initiatives including best practice for change management and strategy refinement
- Facilitate and provide E2E support for executing on M&A strategy including commercial due diligence and post merger integration planning
- Craft concise and persuasive communications to C-level and Board-level leadership

Qualifications
- A university degree
- Excellent strategy consulting record with strong demonstrable experience
- Demonstrated experience of growth strategy and organisational transformation
- A proven relationship-builder who fosters trusted links with stakeholders of varying levels of seniority
- Fluent in English (written and spoken)
- German (reading and spoken) is desirable
