Title:  Editorial Board Resourcing Manager

Location: London, Berlin, and Dordrecht (Hybrid working)

We are excited to offer a Editorial Board Resourcing Manager position within Springer Natures vibrant and innovative Editorial Engagement team.

 

In this role, you will be responsible for building engagement with the research community by creating opportunities for early career researchers to work with Springer Nature journals as Editorial Boards members.

 

You will work closely with Editors in Chiefs (EiCs), journal publishing colleagues and our technology partners to create processes to support editorial board recruitment; encouraging diversity and ensuring that editorial boards are representative of their respective communities.

 

An ideal opportunity for individual with a passion for the development and provision of editorial boards services, this position will also bring the chance to recruit, manage and develop a team to allow the large scale implementation of these exciting initiatives across Springer Nature.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Recruit, train and manage a high-performing team of Editorial Engagement Specialists who support Editorial board recruitment on target journals. 
  • Drive and coordinate recruitment priorities for the team, ensuring that a high quality service is delivered in a timely manner .
  • Develop training resources for internal colleagues to establish best practices for editorial board recruitment alongside your editorial engagement team.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of scalable tools and systems (AI driven where possible) to identify candidate board members in a data driven way alongside analytics team.
  • With the external editor support team and the journals publishing teams contribute to a high quality on boarding experience for new board members.
  • Liaise with internal stakeholders to ensure the goals of the team are met and that we can reliably implement new initiatives and pilots.
  • Maintain proper quality assurance by coordinating processes and reporting on results.

 

Experience, Skills & Qualifications:

  • Management Experience (remote management preferred)
  • Experience of STM journal publishing, with a good understanding of peer review and the role of Editorial Boards (preferably direct experience of working with editorial boards)
  • Strong project management skills, with confidence and ability to lead projects and chair meetings 
  • Strong analytical and technical skills
  • Experience of stakeholder management at all levels of seniority
  • Managing complexity (incorporating change management and flexibility)

 

This role can be located in our London, Berlin, New York, or Dordrecht office. The position is offered on a full-time, permanent basis and on a hybrid working pattern.
