Purpose of the Role 

This role is responsible for account development with the primary objectives of maintaining customer satisfaction, monitoring usage, triggering sales leads and preparing upselling opportunities with key accounts, and educating customers for the transition to Transformative Agreements in the region. The Account Development Manager is closely aligned with a regional sales team ensuring that the optimal approach to the customer is achieved. The person will be responsible for all the post-sales marketing activities mainly in Southeast Asia (namely Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia, Philippines and Vietnam) that are assigned to them, and possibly for other APAC countries if necessary. These activities include customer engagement via in-person visits, virtual meetings, usage and denial reviews, training, branding events, thought leadership events, etc

 

Responsibilities

  • Prepare the annual Account Development Plan for the region in conjunction with licensing managers
  • Analyze market penetration, usage, denials, and other useful metrics and develop / implement strategic plans geared towards maximizing market growth.
  • Sustains rapport with key accounts by making periodic visits; exploring specific needs; anticipating new opportunities
  • Develop and maintain relationships with customers further to ensure loyalty and increase share of wallet
  • Monitor and drive customer usage and satisfaction
  • Develop and conduct customer focused training programs and workshops to promote customer satisfaction and usage resulting in renewal and revenue growth
  • Develop new marketing tactics and ways of analysis to best address the various issues faced by customers
  • Instigate and prepare up-selling opportunities using web analytics tools, market research and customer relationship marketing tactics.
  • Align strongly with the sales group to create added value and build the ongoing relationship with the account and ensure follow up on customer needs.
  • Participate Springer Nature events, trade shows and  conferences if needed

 

Experience, Skills & Qualifications

Experience

  • 5 years proven excellence in management of sales, marketing, or applicable work experience in electronic publishing, software or internet industry
  • Product and/or Library marketing experience preferred

Skills

  • Be creative, organized and exhibit initiative
  • Demonstrate excellent entrepreneurial spirit, communication skills and a desire to work in a high-energy, goal-oriented environment
  • Work independently, manage multiple assignments simultaneously, anticipate required activities/tasks, and work according to changing priorities and deadlines
  • Proven to define and lead projects, experience in developing long-term product strategies & roadmaps.
  • Financially aware and analytical
  • Fluent spoken and written knowledge of English, and speaking Bahasa or Thai is a plus
  • Ability and willingness to travel frequently, approximately 25%

Qualifications     

  • BA in marketing or business
