We are looking for 

Publishing Assistant (m/f/d)

Medicine and Life Science - Journals


You must be flexible, able to prioritize, organize and coordinate work assignments, and able to determine the most efficient way to accomplish each task.



•             Handle non-strategic matters to maintain scholarly journals: prepare new agreements, update internal systems, request payments, and maintain other journal records.

•             Prepare materials for team reports, conferences, and board meetings, including assistance with PowerPoint presentations. Request annual journal reports and monitor schedule.

•             Handle general enquiries from within Springer and from external partners, esp. external editors and authors

•             Develop strong working relationships with colleagues across all departments to coordinate ongoing production, editorial office, marketing, conferences, and other internal department deadlines.

•             Respond to routine enquiries from customer services



•             Experience from a professional activity in editorial/publishing or university degree, preferably in a relevant field of study

•             Ability to work autonomously and responsibly

•             Very strong computer skills required in MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint; database and other software to track projects across a portfolio of journals

•             Attention to detail; exhibiting strong organizational skills are a must

•             Excellent written and oral communication skills in the English language; good communication skills in German preferred

•             Flexibility and ability to work in a multi-cultural environment
