We are seeking a dedicated and motivated intern (m/w/d) to join our Conference Acquisition Team. As a Conference Acquisition Team intern, you will learn from a global, dynamic group to build an analytical eye to identify conferences and engage with conference organizers to publish proceedings in journals and books in the field of applied sciences (mainly computer sciences). Your primary responsibilities will include analyzing the possibilities of publication, entering data into our internal workflow/production systems, facilitating effective communication with authors, editors, and societies, and engaging in results-oriented cooperation with the different editorial teams in Springer Nature. 

 

It is a perfect opportunity to learn how a large publisher works, meet exciting people and dive into the realm of academic publishing. 

 

Role Responsabilities:

  • Identify conference organizers for publishing conference proceedings as books and journals in the field of computer science.
  • Enter data accurately and efficiently into internal workflow/production systems to maintain organized and up-to-date records.
  • Communicate effectively with authors, editors, and societies, providing timely and professional support when necessary.
  • Foster results-oriented cooperation with the editorial teams to ensure smooth operations and successful publication outcomes.
  • Optionally, assist the team with elementary automations by writing basic Python code.

Skills, Experience & Qualifications:

 

Essential

  • Curiosity and eagerness to learn is a must-have skill.
  • Excellent communication skills in English, both written and oral, to effectively interact with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to work well in a team, demonstrating strong collaboration and interpersonal skills.
  • Adequate word-processing skills using software such as Word and Outlook, along with proficient typing abilities.
  • Strong analytical skills to evaluate data and identify potential events
  • Well-organized and able to prioritize tasks effectively.

Desirable

 

  • Experience in writing code, for instance JavaScript, Python or similar, to contribute to the team with elementary automations if required.
