We’re looking for a technical writer with passion to learn new things that will help us to document all relevant parts of the project.


The job is based in Berlin where you will join more than 60+ people with different backgrounds and roles as part of SpringerNature's digital product development team. You'll be part of our big community located in Portugal, Germany, the UK, and India, to name a few. 


We are looking for a student (e.g. study of information and data management,..) to help us build maintainable and reliable documentation that helps the project team to deal with a large amount of information and to help new team members get onboarded more quickly. 

As a technical writer on our team, you are responsible for creating, updating, and maintaining the project's documentation in a self-organized way. You will take care of new requirements as well as existing functionalities by collaborating with the project team.


You will be joining a cross-functional team with different nationalities, backgrounds, and experience levels. All team members collaborate to deliver solutions that best satisfy the needs of researchers and other readers.


About You

  • You want to apply your knowledge in practice in a dispersed team setup.
  • You have first experience in writing and maintaining technical documentation.
  • You may already have experience in software development.
  • You would like to work in project teams with different roles and responsibilities.
  • You like getting involved with every stage of the software development lifecycle.


Day-to-day responsibilities

As part of an Agile product team, day-to-day you will:

  • Take part in our daily stand-ups.
  • Contribute to ceremonies like planning, story writing, collaborative design, and retrospectives.
  • Make sure you’re always up to date so that you can manage and prioritize topics and be able to handle them towards your personal time management.
  • Develop an understanding of the requirements for documentation in the context of the project and based on the team members needs
  • Attend technical discussions with the team in order to support with information based on the existing documentation as well as getting insides for upcoming parts that need documentation.
  • Create, maintain and update the documentation in collaborating with the teams.

Contract conditions:
Contract is limited to one year
20 hours/week
15,00 EUR/hour
