In the last 5 years we have grown the database business at Springer Nature, and we want to continue with our growth story because we strongly believe in the value of our databases for researchers at universities and research institutions. In order to grow further we are seeking a Sales Specialist (m/f/d) who would be  working closely with the local sales team in the DACH region and dedicated product managers.


We require a self-confident and commercially driven personality to continue to achieve the growth ambition as the sales cycles are complex and involve many stakeholders. You will join a global team of smart and dedicated Solution Specialists with a great team spirit.  Despite individual territories and revenue targets we have an emphasis on collaboration and knowledge sharing.


You are good at:

  • Selling complex products to academic customers
  • Managing sales cycles with multiple customers stakeholders
  • Working with product managers, dedicated marketing experts and local sales


You are awesome at:

  • Getting meetings with key decision influencers (Professors in our case)
  • Demonstrating the value of a product through a consultative approach
  • Getting information on customer’s decision criteria and executing tailored activities to meet them


Skills, experience and qualification:

  • Education in Materials Science, Physics, Chemistry, Engineering or similar (B.Sc. or M.Sc.)
  • 3+ years of sales experience
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Applied consultative sales approach combined with strong presentation skills
  • Self-motivated, quick learner, disciplined time management and result-driven
  • Independent thinker and highly confident
