We are looking for an Intern e-Commerce Operations (f/m/d) to be part of our growing team. We support SpringerLink and nature.com with the goal of selling our products and services (e.g. books, eBooks, and subscription offerings). Our team is in charge of providing a smooth buyer experience as well as introducing and continuously improving processes and product features.

All sales processes are supported by our Customer Service team. Complicated issues that Customer Service cannot resolve—or such that require a one-off solution—are routed to our team. As an Intern e-Commerce Operations (f/m/d) you are responsible for resolving these issues together with a range of departments including IT, Product Management, Marketing, and Editorial. The resulting projects will be a major part of your work. You will take to this role quickly if you enjoy working on details, taking on new challenges, and are a self-driven solution finder. You will be supported by an experienced team of professionals located in Berlin, Heidelberg, London and New York with in-depth knowledge of systems and technologies.

The broad range of tasks also includes quality assurance for e.g. upcoming webshop features including hands-on testing. Based on our findings we either tackle the issues ourselves or pass these on to another team.

In sum, your tasks can be described as follows:

  • Preparation and visualization of key figures
  • The creation of discount coupons for our webshops in our coupon system
  • Checking and approving bulk discounts on the basis of discount scales
  • Interfacing with colleagues from the IT, Product Management, Marketing and Editorial departments, especially on projects to optimize and further develop the stores and sales processes
  • Isolating and solving technical web store problems together with the respective colleagues
  • Regularly informing our Customer Services department, e.g. about new developments
  • Testing new features and sales promotions

Your Profile:

You have a good instinct for setting priorities and optimization ideas and feel at home in a dynamic team. Furthermore, you have the following qualifications:

  • You have successfully completed the first semesters of your studies or your apprenticeship in the business or technical field and would now like to gain valuable practical experience.
  • Ability to communicate complex issues in a comprehensible way
  • Good English skills in both written and spoken and German is a plus
  • Experienced in MS-Office
  • Organized and solution-oriented
  • Team player
  • First-hand experience in SAP

Our Terms:

  • For this position you need the permission of the Immigration Office such as according to § 24 Abs. 6 AufenthG and § 4a Abs.2 AufenthG (§ 4a Abs.2 AufenthG die Erlaubnis der Ausländerbehörde).
  • Location: Currently in home office and in Genestraße 5 near S-Bahn Südkreuz in Berlin
  • Despite the start-up character of the e-Commerce Team, you are part of a leading global publisher
  • Extensive training awaits you in our team
  • At least 6 months
  • 30 days’ vacation per year + flexible & fair working hours
  • Payment for internship
