Position: Senior Account Manager (Corporate market)

Reporting line: Report to Sales Director, Chinese Mainland, Macau and Mongolia

Job description:
- Develop and cultivate new and existing relationships within the corporate markets customers, for the purpose of initiating and retaining subscriptions/License to a variety of products and services offered by Springer Nature, in order to meet and exceed annual sales targets.
- Prepare formal quotes and respond to inquiries from direct customers, agents, and third party vendors on a timely fashion. Act as a liaison between customers and several departments of Springer Nature, such as Marketing, Sales Operation, Customer Service, etc. on a needed basis.
- Monitor all account activity in your industries, including new accounts as well as renewal accounts for all licensed products.
- Promote, set up and track trials.
- Report and maintain on-going sales pipeline in defined system/reporting procedures with up to date and accurate account information, including forecast, on a weekly basis.
- Plan and implement sales and marketing strategic plans and projects. Be prepared for both top-down and bottom-up approaches for planning, implementation and control.
- Build up local market intelligence and recommend relevant business reactions.
- Keep up with all the products being offered by the company, and communicate the know-how and strategy to both end-users and distributors.
- Submit regular sales and business activity report and travel/training plan to Sales Director.
- Participate in key conferences and tradeshows within the industries, on a regular basis.
- Carry out any other duties assigned by supervisor.
Job requirements:
- Bachelor degree or above
- 5-7 years of successful direct solution selling experience with a related industry
- Previous publishing and/or information industry business experience, promoting web-based platforms and products within the Corporate markets in China will be an advantage; Pharmaceutical or Materials Industry background will be preferred.
- Good command of spoken and written English and Chinese
- Familiarity with Microsoft Windows, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and E-mail system; experience using Salesforce.com
- Willingness to conduct frequent travel to customers sites needed during the year
