Sales Coordinator Intern

 

Position overview

 

This is a fantastic opportunity to work on a versatile range of products for an international client base. You will be responsible to manage projects from inception to completion, working with external and internal customers and outsourced vendors.

 

The Sales Coordinator Intern will support the sales team in development, production and delivery of projects, taking primary responsibility in ensuring that the projects are completed to the highest of standards within set time frames. 

 

 

 

Job duties:

 

Project Work

  • Deliver projects and services being sold through the Chinese office
  • Oversee and drive the day to day management of all live projects in line with agreed specifications, deadline dates and budgets
  • Monitor time and costs throughout project delivery and liaise with the Sales Director and Operations Director (based in UK) regarding deviations from the agreed cost and time schedules
  • Enter all data in relevant project management, sales and purchase order systems, complying with agreed internal processes and coding requirements
  • Ensure compliance with copyright laws and Springer Nature branding guidelines
  • Keep full and up to date project files including maintaining an organised archive of printed material and upload files of finished projects on platforms and storage systems
  • Maintain good working knowledge of all Springer Nature product lines

 

Production

  • Prepare materials for projects, such as disclaimers, journal covers and full text files
  • Crosscheck proofs, artwork or pre-print samples with Editor before printing and organise corrective actions
  • Manage Wechat platform posting for Journal Local Editions, including;
  • Use H5software to develop content on Wechat platform
  • Work with Nature Marketing and Website teams to launch content to schedule
  • Responsible for Wechat analytics specific to SH content

 

Provide Sales Support

  • Pro-active handling of client/internal queries, action any client calls immediately
  • Provide support for the use of internal sales systems; SMART/SAP CRM/ C3

 

Financial Management

  • Accurately complete financial spreadsheets and invoicing of projects by agreed monthly deadlines
  • Responsibility for all general requests and problems with regard to accounting

 

 

 

 

Person Specification

  • Educated to degree level or equivalent experience
  • Proven experience in a sales office environment (ideally publishing or Medical Communications agency) in general and in dealing with Chinese business partners in particular
  • Fluent in written and oral English
  • Proven examples of being highly organised
  • Ability to work to tight deadlines and under own initiative
  • Examples of being able to prioritise in times of heavy workload and to manage several projects at a time
  • Ability to provide examples of adjusting to changing situations quickly
  • Proven ability to build strong working relationships
