Purpose of the role:

This role is responsible for growing revenue across paid media and SEO(Content) channels through launching online campaigns, analysing data and monitoring overall website traffic. Successful candidate should have profound knowledge in both SEM and SEO.

Research Square is home to American Journal Experts (AJE) and the Research Square preprint platform. As a subsidiary of Springer Nature, we are hiring a Digital Marketing Manager in China, to support the continuous growth of our B2C business along with the entire growth team members.

Launched in 2018, our platform is the fastest growing preprint server in the world. Preprint servers facilitate the dissemination of science by allowing for the early sharing of scientific results and enabling public conversations around the work. We have ambitious growth plans for expanding the preprint server ecosystem to include a range of valuable paid services for researchers.

Leading our revenue growth efforts, the Digital Marketing Manager will own the strategy and execution of paid media, organic search, affiliate and display channels. We expect this individual to have the capability to build the strategy across all our branding and product lines, and to determine our most efficient and effective channels for revenue growth, while maximising conversion rate and return on investment. Key metrics include: paid and organic search revenue, ROAS, CPS, conversion rate.

The right candidate will be a self-starter, comfortable working with complex data, has direct experience running paid marketing programs, SEO/SEM and content seeding, an expert in tackling revenue growth and result optimization in China local omni-channel environment.

 

Key tasks:

•    Own China paid channels: search engine ads and partner website ads;
•    Own SEO project and implement website SEO plans;
•    Monitor website traffic and update contents for CN website;
•    Explore local search engine content strategy to increase website organic traffic; 
•    Dive data from marketing perspectives and share insights within the team, offer suggestions to the Product team to enhance product competitiveness;
•    Monitor and conduct competitor analysis in digital marketing;
•    Collaborate with Customer Marketing Manager, Product team, UX designers to support customer journey throughout the research lifecycle to establish growth strategies;
•    Make digital marketing strategy, work on marketing budget planning and allocation;
•    Work with internal teams to set targets for promotions, conduct tests, report on and communicate results to stakeholders;
•    Closely work with Sales, Customer Support and Global team for new product launch and revenue growth projects.

 

Key relationships:

This role will report to the Head of Marketing, and work closely with the Customer Marketing Manager, Product team, UX designers, Account Development Manager, Engineering, and Customer Support team in China and US.

 

Qualifications:

Bachelor or Master’s Degree

 

Skills/knowledge:

•    SEM and SEO knowledge is a must, content or web design experiences are highly preferred;
•    Strong analytical and data mining focus, able to generate insights and solutions or build a strategy from large data sets, familiar with Google analytics;
•    Strong focus on achieving revenue goals;
•    Highly motivated and with entrepreneurial thinking in driving impact and continuous improvement for overall business;
•    Ownership mindset and ability to thrive in a highly ambiguous and fast-paced environment with a dynamic bias for action and a “get stuff done” attitude;
•    Strong collaboration work across departments and third party agencies with a strong communication skill;
•    Excellent English speaking and writing skills.

 

Experience:

•    5+ years’ experience in digital marketing, advertising agency, start-up/tech, and/or strategy with a heavy e-Commerce emphasis;
•    Direct experiences in SEO and SEM, experience in content and website design will be a strong plus;
•    Proved experience in achieving goals: customer acquisition, revenue, CPS or ROAS;
•    Experience in making market strategy and budget planning;
•    Familiar with China local omni-channel environment and media trends.
