Macmillan Education produces content for English Language Teaching (ELT) and for Schools curricula around the world whilst Palgrave Higher Education develops and distributes textbooks, e-books and interactive e-learning resources primarily for University-level students.

Job Purpose

This position exists to build market share of Macmillan Education, ELT and International Curriculum products.  This will be achieved through the development of an annual sales plan for a defined geographical area covering all market segments.

 

Duties

  • Submit quarterly territorial action plan detailing planned actions that will result in the achievement of the allocated individual sales target and other targets set by the line manager.
  • Align visiting strategies with planned product promotions, coordinate sales activities with local partners and distributors, participate in and/or hold appropriate promotional events and list target institutions and visiting strategies for each.
  • Complete the quarterly territorial action plan within the allocated budget and record all sales activities in NEXUS or the assigned CRM system.
  • Take ownership of all market segments in the territory and build future business through the expansion of prospects in NEXUS or the assigned CRM system.
  • Provide timely customer service for all prospects in the territory and follow up on all potential leads.
  • Research and understand market and customer needs and trends.
  • Compile company reports and undertake research tasks as necessary.
  • Abide by all company rules and regulations relating to and not limited to statutory obligations, ethics and code of conduct.
  • Undertake any additional task reasonably assigned by the line manager

Qualifications and Skills:

We are seeking a dynamic and result-driven Sales and Marketing Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications.

  • Bachelor’s Degree in any field
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience working in sales or marketing. Experience in the Publishing or Education business is an advantage
  • Proven track records of achieving sales targets and managing customer relationships
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to quickly build rapport with clients  
  • Ability to multitask, set priorities, and manage appointments effectively
  • Fluent in Thai, good command of English and computer literate in MS Office
  • Independent, self-motivated and able to work virtually and travel frequently to meet client needs and attend industry events
