About the  Business Unit


Marketing & Business Shared Services team contributes to broad spectrum which stretches from creating marketing collaterals, deploying digital campaigns & managing Author Helpdesk. Our in-house developed data driven analytics enables us to calculate print run of a book, finalizing price of  SpringerNature Books and developing market intelligence reports.

Education Qualifications:       University degree with a strong analytical/quantitative background or equivalent experience (e.g. Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Econometrics, Physics, Computer Science etc.)


The job is based in Pune where you will as part of Springer Nature’s digital product development team. You’ll be part of our big community of developers located in Germany, UK and India, to name a few.


Springer Nature is seeking a highly motivated Digital Analytics Lead to direct the implementation and governance of Google Analytics across its websites, which include the very highly trafficked, Springer, BioMedCentral and Scientific American. You will support others to enable them to provide actionable analysis and insight into the behavior of researchers in both their roles as authors and users of scientific information as well as general trends in the world of research.  Driving change that improves their experience with SpringerNature and supports our purpose to advance discovery.


As a Digital Analytics Lead, you’ll work with multiple departments in order to lead manage the standardization of websites and the implementation of Google Analytics according to business needs. You will need to identify opportunities for process improvements and develop policies for GA data governance, create documentation and training material around the appropriate documentation that allows stakeholders to understand the steps of the data capture and analysis process.




  • Consult with stakeholders throughout the business to scope and implement solutions in support of business objectives
  • In coordination with stakeholders and technical teams, contribute to the definition of the roadmap for the implementation of GA4, monitor the achievement of milestones and find practical solutions to remove roadblocks
  • Be the liaison between different stakeholders and technical teams, making sure that technical requirements are implemented according to business needs
  • Manage the relationship with external providers, setting goals, expectations and defining timelines for their technical work
  • Play a key role in shaping website development solutions, creating the right governance and safety checks to maintain tracking accuracy
  • Monitor the correct implementation and development of GA4 across Springer Nature domains to make sure that custom dimensions, metrics and parameters are developed according to business needs and in coordination with stakeholders


Role requirements:


  • Good working knowledge of Javascript, HTML, Google Tagmanager, Google Analytics, and Google Big Query
  • Experience in debugging tracking issues and supporting the business by providing technical support on Google Analytics
  • Experience in extracting and manipulating data through SQL
  • Proven capacity in interacting with different departments collecting business requirements and translating them into technical solutions
  • Demonstrable experience of using data insights and analytics to add tangible value in achieving the wider goals and strategy of the business
  • Excellent analytical problem solving capabilities coupled with business acumen
  • Well organized and accurate with good time management
