Position Summary and General Description:

The Trade Sales Analyst will be responsible for data analytics and reporting within the Springer Nature Trade Sales Team which manages the distribution of print and ebooks through channel partners.  The primary focus of this position will be to:

  • Develop trade and eRetail dashboards and data management strategy
  • Prepare and deliver reports, metrics, and analysis to inform business stakeholders
  • Analyze search, sales, and market data to identify opportunities for Springer Nature to increase discoverability
  • Emphasis on regular reporting and analysis of Amazon.com business including preparations for weekly meetings and help with global projects that track Amazon across markets

 

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and distribute Americas sales reports
  • Analyze sales out and POS data to present trends and make strategic recommendations
  • Monitor, analyze, and compile competitive activities
  • Visualize data to create dashboards and PowerPoint slides for internal and external stakeholders
  • Manage audits of POD and ebook sales reports
  • Internal communication critical; will have frequent interaction with sales, marketing, fulfillment, logistics, data, and finance colleagues
  • External communication to include regular contact with key accounts
  • Special data and analytics projects as needed
  • Become a power user of internal systems and customer portals

 

Qualifications & Experience Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • 2-3 years of sales analytics and reporting experience required
  • Proficiency in MS Office and Google Workspace
  • Advanced knowledge of Excel and Google Analytics
  • Familiarity with SAP BI tools is a plus
  • Knowledge of STEM and/or HSS book market is a plus
  • Enthusiasm imperative; key role in a small team managing an evolving business
  • Must be well organized, collaborative, and self-motivated
  • Ability to work independently and with cross-functional teams
  • Experience working with Amazon is a plus
  • Periodic travel domestically and internationally may be required

Annualized Base Salary Range: $75,000 – $85,000. The salary offer may vary based on work experience, education and skill level.
