We are looking to recruit an outstanding Project Manager to join our team to support to delivery of key publications for our Global Market.  As Project Manager, you will ensure that the projects are delivered successfully with full launch support in place and within the context of best practice guidelines as required by Publishing Programs.
 
As directed by the Business Programme Manager, you take responsibility for the successful delivery of a number of customized publishing projects on time, to quality, budget and scope, leading to business-critical publication or software release dates. You will also engage and oversee the allocated internal resources and manage any risks and issues related to the project deliverables.

 

Main responsibilities:

  • Responsible to the business for the successful delivery of the allocated publishing projects (print and digital) requirements and related business benefits to the agreed time, budget, quality and scope.
  • Risk & issues mitigation: Analyze, identify and define risk issues for the project delivery & define a mitigation strategy.
  • To think creatively and to be adaptive in finding solutions whilst proactively engaging with stakeholders, project team and suppliers to ensure any miscommunications, risks and issues are addressed and mitigated as early as possible.
  • To create, communicate and coordinate regularly to all team members and stakeholders’ objectives, schedules and deadlines, detailed budgets, and all other project parameters and constraints; during life of the project, troubleshoot and respond quickly to issues to reduce the impact on time / cost / quality.
  • Overall ownership of the Communication Plan including providing regular Project reporting and Dashboard updates. Ensure that updates are aligned and shared with Project teams and Sponsor.
  • Provide regular reports regarding the project status and required actions to the BPO team and stakeholders involved.
  • Support the input into the Business Case process for the Publisher/Sponsor to gain approval. Work closely with the Project teams, Finance and the Publisher (Sponsor) to ensure costs forecasts are kept aligned.
  • Project Budget management: track project expenses against the budget. Track and reallocate budget as required and, in case of any potential deviation, request the appropriate approvals as per policy. Also identify areas of potential savings/unused budget.
  • Responsible for creating, owning and implementing a full project plan where appropriate. This would include identifying the project milestones, dependencies, resources, risks & issues and deliverables.  To ensure that the plans are baselined and available to all team members as well as all adjacent service-providing groups. This will include scheduling of all components of a project (print and digital), taking into account the requirements and needs of other stakeholders.    

       
Skills/knowledge required:

  • Have a pro-active approach with the ability to self-manage and take on initiatives to pre-empt and resolve issues
  • Excellent communication skills and stakeholder management
  • Understanding and experience of applying project management disciplines and knowledge of the publishing and software development life cycles
  • Flexible approach and the ability to adapt to fast-paced, changing environments
  • Team player familiar with high-performing team disciplines and management
  • Managing budgets and forecast spend
  • Strong organizational skills with an eye for detail and accuracy
  • Analytical ability required for a PM position
  • A can-do approach and willingness to adapt in the role to the needs of the specific project 
  • Interest in language learning and/or education
