The Cyber Security Team is responsible for the monitoring, vulnerability management, assurance, security architecture, infrastructure, and the secure development lifecycle within Springer Nature.

 

Solutions Architect:

  • Provide overall direction and guidance for the development of an architecture required to meet the business strategies and goals.
  • You will focus on solution-based decisions and analyse their impact on the overall business goals and outcomes.
  • You will analyse the current IT environment to detect critical deficiencies and recommend solutions for improvement as well as the development of strategies aligning IT to business.
  • You will provide advocacy and support for the enterprise’s IT strategies.


Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate the domain technical and business discussions relative to future architecture direction.
  • Participate in strategy development, including environmental analysis, opportunity identification, value cases and business innovation portfolio development.
  • Contribute to the IT strategy and ensure alignment with architectural strategy and business goals.
  • Responsible for analysis, design, and development of roadmaps and implementation plans based upon a current vs. future state in a cohesive architecture viewpoint.
  • Support, develop and communicate domain-wide policies, standards, guidelines and procedures.
  • Design standard configurations and patterns.
  • Promote the Architecture process, outcomes and results.
  • Participate in the Security Governance process.
  • Lead and facilitate the domains architecture governance process 
  • Ensure compatibility with existing solutions, infrastructure, services, and strategic requirements.
  • Coordinate architecture implementation and modification activities.
  • Analyse the current architecture to identify weaknesses and develop opportunities for improvements.
  • Identify and, when necessary, propose variances to the architecture to accommodate project needs.
  • Nurture intra-team relationships.
  • Manage 3rd party relationships.
  • Experience interacting with senior level/executives to communicate a message of network and security transformation.


Experience: 

  • At least 10 years IT and Architecture experience.
  • Incident management process.
  • Working knowledge of SIEM, EDR, SOAR  tools.


Skills/Knowledge:

  • A genuine interest in cyber security.
  • Strong knowledge of the current threat landscape.
  • Able to work within a diverse team.
  • Deep analytical skills
  • Can do attitude, with strong accountability and ownership.
  • Good understanding of SaaS, Cloud hosting and Integration technologies
  • Stakeholder management to ensure the end-to-end solution is designed and developed to meet requirements and best practice standards.
  • Broad understanding of software development lifecycle with experience of Agile and Waterfall methodologies
  • Knowledge of at least one technology domain, incl. Application Architecture; Automation; Data Science & AI; Data; Integration; Infrastructure / Cloud; Security; and DevSecOps
  • Good knowledge of at least 2-3 other domains
  • Good knowledge of governance incl. steps required, e.g. conceptual and solution architecture reviews, security assessments and service acceptance criteria
  • Good understanding of technical debt, incl. its causes, how to measure it, and remedial actions incl. decommissioning
  • Qualified in ITIL and TOGAF (The Open Group Architecture Framework)
  • Experience of designing and implementing a Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) and Remote Working solutions.

  • Computer Science degree.
  • Security related certification. 
  • Networking certification.
  • Architecture certification.
