We are currently looking for a (Senior) Content Marketing Manager to take the lead on creating meaningful narratives to reflect the mission of Springer Nature as it concerns our wider research community audience. This role will manage B2C content marketing programs and activities that drive submissions, attract new authors and retain existing authors, and grow Springer Nature’s reputation and showcase our value across researcher audiences.This role will help define and execute our strategy for B2C content development, working closely with teams across several business areas to create a dynamic content marketing programme to be amplified across key marketing and communication channels.



  • Guide all aspects of a B2C content marketing strategy, from concept through development and implementation, including key topics such as societal impact, addressing the UN Sustainable Development Goals, the importance of open science, with an aptitude for progressive business practices that focus on diversity, equity, and inclusion
  • Develop messaging and value stories that support B2C personas and audiences, working as a strong liaison with corporate communications, brand, and thought leadership programmes and proposing collaborative plans for execution
  • Generate innovative ideas to advance B2C business goals, making recommendations to optimize audience engagement and foster customer loyalty
  • Propel business goals through the development of enticing customer-centric content while promoting available marketing assets throughout the internal organization
  • Provide feedback, insights, and analysis on performance of content marketing programmes and support development of best practice/optimisation



  • Significant experience writing for customers across multiple channels - notably blogging, newsletters, and longer-form content
  • Previous management of a content marketing programme preferably within scholarly publishing
  • Experience in gathering customer insights and analysing data to inform audience priorities and persona journeys
  • Proven success of developing data-driven marketing campaigns



  • Excellent written communications skills
  • Curiosity about customer needs and understanding of insights / market research techniques and segmentation
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong collaboration and teamwork mindset
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage complex projects
