Publishing Assistant (m/f/d)

Humanities and Social Sciences - Journals


Job profile:

  • administrative and project management support for Publishing Editors and the Publishing Director in daily handling of the group’s journal portfolio
  • internal data management of journal projects, feeding projects into spreadsheets, databases and workflow systems
  • assistance on reporting metrics such as key performance indicators for journals
  • support of the roll-out of new systems, policies, and protocols
  • handling of general enquiries from within Springer and from external partners, esp. external editors and authors
  • processing of royalty, stipend, and other payments as well as assistance on rights and permissions requests
  • preparation of Editorial Board Meetings and conferences
  • support of social media activities and marketing campaigns
  • contribution to wider Springer Nature initiatives, taking part in cross-departmental projects on behalf of the team
  • cooperation with other Springer Nature departments (Production, Marketing, Customer Service, Finance, IT, and others)



  • experience from a professional activity in editorial/publishing or university degree, preferably in a relevant field of study (Business, Economics, other Social Sciences, or Humanities)
  • ability to work autonomously and responsibly
  • excellent verbal and written communication skills in both English and German
  • excellent networking and team-working skills





Permanent contract, TG 4

Working hours: full-time

Starting date: November 1st 2022
