Purpose of the Role
Working at the heart of a changing industry, we have to constantly assess, adapt and improve our ways of working. For Research Marketing this has led to anovel cutting-edge setup alongside the entire marketing supply chain that enables us to meet the high expectations of the broad range of our audiences more effectively and efficiently. In order to help us manage our evolving marketing activities to support our new marketing mission we are offering an exciting opportunity to join our Marketing operations Enablement team as marketing Data Manager. The focus of this role is on supporting product data-driven marketing campaigns to ensure that our products (books and journals) are optimally distributed across the various channels. Product metadata is at the core of our business.  Understanding, extracting, combining and loading correct metadata in a multichannel, automated marketing environment is the focus of this exiting position.



  • Creation of title selections and enrichment of metadata based on predefined selection criteria on demand and on a regular basis using in-house database tools
  • Development and implementation of automation processes for the creation of fully automated title/data reports in using (REST)-API
  • Supporting the creation, management and monitoring of data feeds for various online marketing channels
  • Monitor and recommend adjustments to company-specific taxonomies to reflect changing business requirements for book and journal publications
  • Submit product metadata specifications to the Product Data Management developers for new and changing products
  • Development and further expansion of data-driven and automated processes to improve productivity and scalability in various areas of Marketing Operations


  • 3+ years of proven experience in successful management of marketing and product meta data
  • International working experience on agency or company side with globally distributed peers 
  • Proven track record of successfully working with analytics, database reporting and their interpretation using a visualization tool
  • Expert and up-to-date knowledge in data marketing as well as marketing in general
  • Experienced in data analysis using appropriate tools and methods (SQL, Python, etc.)
  • Strong analytical skills, the ability to use big data and metrics to back up recommendations and create revenue


  • Outstanding knowledge in Excel and G-Sheet, ability to create Macros, advanced formulas and additional functions that are required to automate the population of a customized client 
  • Working with documented (REST)-API to implement automated workflows 
  • Basic understanding in dealing with marketing data feeds
  • Ideally already gained experience in the area of process automation
  • Professional experience with Google Cloud Platform/Google Big Query 
  • Excellent analytical, organisational, project management, and time management skills
  • Mindset to learn new tools and approaches and the ability to quickly apply this knowledge
  • Knowledge of SQL, XML, ONIX, and CSV
  • Excellent verbal and written English communication skills
