Currently we are looking for a People Learning Manager - EMEA (Centre of Expertise People Learning) (f/m/d)

Location(s):  EMEA flexible (primary: Germany, UK)

 

Purpose of the role

The People Learning Manager (f(/m/d) is a significant member of the Centre of Expertise People Learning, focused on delivering global learning and performance initiatives for the EMEA regional hub, adapting them to meet the specific needs of the region. This will include developing regionally specific programmes and initiatives to support employee learning and development.
 
The People Learning Manager (f/m/d) is also the expert on all legal and regulatory requirements in relation to learning and performance for all countries within the hub region ensuring we meet all local standards.

 

Responsibilities

  • Delivers and executes implementation of any learning & development or other centre of expertise initiatives at regional hub level with subject matter expertise on the legislative and other requirements across the region
  • Supports the global centre of expertise People Learning Director in the definition and governance of global L&D solutions, processes and standards
  •  Adapts the global centre of expertise People Learning guidelines to the regional / country level (based on local statutory requirements)
  • Provides and supports development conversations and/or planning with individual employees and managers within the region/location
  • Works with the Talent & Performance Business Partner and centre of expertise People Learning Director to deliver and implement any centre of expertise initiative at hub level, focusing on the operational coordination to serve timezone and language needs (e.g. joining virtual instructor led training as backup, participant support, etc)
  • Takes the responsibility for identifying both needs and solutions for any country/regional Learning & Development initiatives to meet regulatory or compliance requirements, such as Health and Safety training
  • Takes the responsibility for regional communication, including driving and promoting the performance process overall. This includes working with the centre of expertise People Learning lead on the overall strategy
  • Provides input to global Learning & Development / centre of expertise People Learning guidelines development and adapts policies in the hub regions
  • Takes over the responsibility for the governance of talent initiatives in the hub regions where necessary
  • Provides as Subject Matter Expert state-of-the-art support and advice on a regional level
  • Delivers end-to-end processes to managers and employees in L&D/Performance in the hub regions adhering to global policies / standards
  • Is a specialist in the delivery of their process responsibility, nonetheless acts as an integrated thinker and team player
  • Delivers and facilitates training sessions
  • Takes ownership of the regional Learning & Development communications, utilising these to keep Learning & Development front of mind for employees and managers and demonstrating the options available
  • Actively drives the usage of the Springer Nature competency model in all relevant initiatives within the region
  • Uses data analytics and reporting to demonstrate success
  • Collaborates with workers councils regionally
  • Ensures we meet KPIS for performance and learning growth in region
  • Supports the regional managers acting as their coach and mentor where needed (and also help them work to global standards and use global processes)

 

Experience

  • Background in learning and development and/or training
  • Demonstrable experience of working effectively with senior stakeholders
  • Experience In delivery and facilitation of training

  

Skills/Knowledge

  • Good understanding of Learning & Development and Performance processes
  • Demonstrated knowledge and application of instructional design theory, pedagogy, instructional design principles, learning theory, adult learning theory
  • Able to design training courses and programs necessary to meet training needs, or manage this activity via external providers
  • Demonstrated experience creating online courses and videos
  • Experience in creating and testing original interactive course content, including designing, authoring, and editing e-learning, virtual, blended and classroom curriculum and programs
  • Strong written and verbal communication and presentation skills to consult and build solid relationships with internal stakeholders
  •  Good understanding of  legal requirements (or other regulatory needs) in relation to training and performance
  • Full proficiency in English, any additional language skills beneficial (preferably German and/or Spanish)

 

Qualifications

  • Educated to Bachelor’s degree or higher in related discipline or have equivalent experience
