Our Research content:

Life Sciences

From our life science, biomedicine and clinical books and journals produced by Springer, to the diverse medical and biological sciences open access content from BMC, we offer many different publishing options. Together, with the high impact reviews and research published by the Nature Research family of journals, we cover the full spectrum of the life sciences.

Physical Sciences

Springer and Nature Research publish broadly across the physical sciences. Our physical sciences books date back to the late 1800s and cover some of the fundamental discoveries of our time. In 2018 we have expanded our portfolio to include the broad scope open access journals Communications Chemistry and Communications Physics.

Applied Sciences and Humanities

Our authors develop ideas from basic research and produce practical solutions to problems. Adis, covers medical and drug-focused content, whereas Apress serves information technology professionals and technical communities. Springer publishes an array of engineering books and journals, and in 2018, Nature Catalysis and Nature Electronics were launched.

Humanities and Social Science

Palgrave Macmillan and Springer produce humanities and social science content covering economics, politics, literature, philosophy and psychology. We also publish social science content in a range of our Nature journals including Nature Climate Change, Nature Energy, Nature Geoscience, Nature Human Behaviour, Nature Plants and Nature Sustainability.

Multi-disciplinary

Our flagship journal Nature, first published in 1869, and the open access journals Nature Communications and Scientific Reports, are multi-disciplinary journals that publish content in all aspects of the life and physical sciences as well as many areas of the applied and social sciences.

Mathematics

The combined portfolio of Springer and Birkhäuser covers all classical subdisciplines of mathematics and statistics, and extends into the more contemporary areas of mathematical biology, quantitative finance, computational sciences, and data science. We produce monographs, textbooks, handbooks, reference works and more than 200 journals.
