Purpose of the Role:

 

The Vice President HR Business Partnering, Research will work with the divisional senior management teams and key stakeholders to help build organisation and people capability, shaping and implementing effective people strategies and HR initiatives to support the business strategy. You will act as a trusted business partner across the division, providing strategic HR guidance and advice to leadership roles on a variety of people topics.

 

As part of the HR Leadership team, you will play a pivotal role in shaping and driving the future of HR for Springer Nature as well as leading the success of HR teams and initiatives supporting Springer Nature’s objectives.

Responsibiliites 

 

Strategic HR Business Partnering

  • Acts as a first point of contact for the divisional leadership team.
  • Develop and implement the divisional HR strategy.
  • Translates the business needs into HR initiatives, developing and implementing effective HR solutions to support the division’s strategic needs.
  • Focuses on strategic business demands and give strategic HR advice to business leaders.
  • Facilitates the delivery and implementation of the Springer Nature HR strategy in the respective businesses.
  • Identifies, designs and coordinates the implementation of business-specific global projects.
  • Acts as a divisional point of HR expertise for HR COEs in the implementation of Group HR initiatives.
  • Develops and maintain strong partnerships with business leaders and key stakeholders.
  • Consults business leaders on leadership-related questions.
  • Coach key stakeholders to help improve business performance and increase capability where necessary.
  • Collaborates with the wider SN HR team to shape and deliver feasible and effective HR solutions relevant to Research. This includes working closely with HR International to support strategic needs of business units in key locations.
  • Utilise data and analytics to drive insights and inform decision-making. Develop and track key HR Metrics, where available to measure the effectiveness of HR initiatives.
  • Works closely with MRPA to ensure visibility and effective management of relevant people budgets across the business e.g. FTEs/ Training.
  • Act as a HRBP for specific business areas as needed.

 

Drive Talent and Performance Initiatives across Research

  • Define divisional talent and performance initiatives to support Research specific talent needs.
  • Support implementation of Springer Nature wide talent and performance strategy and initiatives into Research division.
  • Drive proactive talent management across Research division.
  • Support Springer Nature wider succession planning process.

 

Support change management across Springer Nature

  • Lead change management initiatives to support organisational transformation and growth.
  • Enable and facilitate change initiatives across the business, partnering with leaders to anticipate and address the impact of change on employees.
  • Act as a change expert for the business.
  • Ensure positive communication through the division in collaboration with the Internal Comms team.
  • Support and drive HR change across Springer Nature as needed e.g. Roll out of Workday.

 

Leadership

  • Create a positive and energetic team environment.
  • Lead and inspire the HRBP & T&P BP team for Research to deliver on plans. Ensuring that the strategic and tactical goals are understood, owned and applied successfully.
  • Create a strong performance culture within your team and lead cross functional teams towards common goals.
  • Take part in regular leadership team meetings and contribute fully to the development of strategic objectives and tactical goals for Springer Nature HR.
  • Work closely to support and engage with the other leaders to create a culture that is mutually supportive with teams that work together to best serve the needs of the business.
  • Collaborates closely with the wider HRBP function to share and leverage good practices.
  • Manages the HRBP Budget

Experience

  • Experience developing divisional HR strategy
  • Proven track record of successfully leading HR initiatives and driving organisational change
  • Experience working with a global scope
  • Experience in influencing and negotiating with stakeholders at a senior level, including Directors, VPs and C-Suite.
  • Experience working in a complex global matrix organisation
  • Experience working in a multi-tasked and fast-paced environment
  • Experience in change management
  • Wider knowledge of different HR functions and capabilities
  • Experience leading teams/ people

Qualifications      

  • Ideally possess Business degree and/or HR related qualification
